Heidi Miles Therapy

A therapeutic space for adults and teenagers exploring who they are and what they’ve lived through.

Sometimes life can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves.

You may be struggling with relationships, carrying the impact of past experiences, navigating a significant life change, or simply feeling that something no longer fits.

Whether you're an adult seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, or you're looking for support for a teenager who is finding life difficult, therapy offers a safe, thoughtful space to explore what is happening without judgement or pressure.

I work alongside you, not as an expert telling you who you are, but as someone who helps you discover what feels true for you.

Therapy can take place both online across Europe, and in person from my peaceful practice near Selby and York or Doncaster. My approach is warm, collaborative and rooted in the belief that change begins with understanding ourselves more fully.

You might recognise yourself...

Perhaps you've spent years holding everything together for everyone else and are beginning to wonder where you've gone in the process.

Maybe a recent life event has left you questioning who you are or where life is heading.

You might be beginning to understand how earlier experiences continue to affect you, noticing patterns in relationships that no longer serve you, or exploring what it means to be neurodivergent.

Or perhaps you're simply tired of coping on your own and are looking for a space where you can slow down, reflect and understand yourself more fully.

How I can support you

Sometimes there has been a clear event that has brought you to this point. At other times, there is simply a growing sense that life no longer feels quite right, and a desire to understand why.

Areas may include:

  • Life transitions and feeling uncertain about the future

  • The lasting impact of trauma and difficult life experiences

  • Relationship and family difficulties

  • Anxiety, overwhelm and burnout

  • Identity, self-esteem and self-worth

  • Neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD

  • Grief, loss and significant change

  • The emotional challenges of adolescence

Whatever brings you to therapy, we will begin by understanding your experiences with curiosity and compassion, creating a space where you can explore what matters most to you.

People often come to me because...

Some people come to therapy with a particular issue they would like to focus on.

Others find that, as therapy unfolds, they want to explore their experiences more deeply and understand the patterns that have shaped their lives.

There is no expectation about how long we will work together. We will regularly review the process together, ensuring therapy continues to meet your needs.

Meaningful change rarely happens overnight.

Therapy offers the opportunity to slow down, reflect, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself in a way that everyday life often doesn't allow.

My Approach

As a relational integrative psychotherapist I believe that relationships shape us and that lasting change happens through relationships. The therapeutic relationship we build together provides a brave, accepting and collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

Together, we may explore how earlier relationships and life experiences continue to influence the way you see yourself, relate to others and respond to life's challenges. By developing a deeper understanding of these patterns with curiosity and compassion, it becomes possible to make choices that feel more authentic and better aligned with who you are today.

Whether you are working through the impact of trauma, navigating a life transition, exploring your identity, or seeking support for relationship difficulties, our work will be guided by what feels most important to you.

My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you, offering a thoughtful, compassionate and supportive relationship in which meaningful change can emerge.

Therapy is not about fixing who you are. It is about creating the conditions in which you can understand yourself more fully, recognise your strengths, and move towards living in a way that feels more connected and authentic.

About Me

I am a relational integrative psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working therapeutically with children, teenagers, and adults.

My early training as a Play Psychotherapist continues to shape the way I work, particularly my appreciation for creativity, curiosity, and the many different ways people communicate their inner world.

At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change happens through relationship. Together we explore the relationships in your life — with yourself, with others, and the one that develops between us within the therapy space.

I believe that developing insight, alongside feeling supported and understood, can open the door to lasting change.

My approach is compassionate, reflective, and grounded in an understanding of the connection between mind and body in healing and recovery.

Above all, I hope to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and a greater sense of compassion towards who you are.
